PRIVACY

How Alekun uses your information.

Last updated 17 October 2026

Alekun is run by Oluwasetemi (Temi) Idowu, a sole trader in the UK. I decide how the information on this page is used, so I'm responsible for it. You can reach me at temi@alekun.co.uk.

If I've emailed your business

I contact limited companies about services that could help them, such as pricing and wage-cost reviews and message assistants.

  • What I hold: your name and role, your business's name, its business email and phone number, and public facts about the business.
  • Where it comes from: public sources only: Companies House, your website, and public listings and booking pages.
  • Why: to offer a service relevant to your business. The legal basis is legitimate interests.
  • Stopping it: reply "no thanks" to any email and I won't contact you again. I keep your email address and the date on a do-not-contact list, only so that it sticks.
  • How long: if we don't end up working together, I delete your details within 12 months of our last contact (apart from the do-not-contact list).

If you contact me or become a client

  • I use what you send me to reply, give you a quote and do the work. The legal basis is taking steps towards, or carrying out, a contract with you.
  • If you book a call, Google Calendar passes me your name, email address and anything you write in the booking form, so I can hold the call.
  • Invoices and payment records are kept for 6 years because tax law requires it.
  • When I build an assistant for your business, I handle your customers' messages only to run that assistant for you, under a written agreement with you.
  • For a Profit Sprint, your costs, sales figures and booking reports are used only for your own price review and are never shared with another business.

If you apply for a job through the Hiring Engine

Some businesses use Alekun to run their job adverts and WhatsApp applications. If you apply for one of their jobs:

  • Who's responsible: the business you're applying to decides how your application is used. Alekun handles it on their behalf, under a written agreement with them.
  • What's collected: your name and WhatsApp number, when you can work and start, how you'd get there, your relevant experience, whether you have the right to work in the UK, and for bar jobs whether you're 18 or over.
  • What isn't asked: your nationality, health, religion, relationship status or anything like them.
  • What it's used for: that job only. Your answers go to the business with a short summary written by an AI model. People at the business decide who to interview and who to hire; the AI doesn't.
  • The legal basis: taking steps, at your request, towards a possible job.
  • How long: if you're not successful, your details are deleted or anonymised within 6 months.
  • Your rights: you can ask the business, or me, to see, correct or delete your details at any time.

The demo

Messages typed into the demo are sent to an AI model to generate replies. Please don't type in personal details. Demo conversations are only used to run the demo and make it better, which is in Alekun's legitimate interests (showing businesses what the assistant can do).

  • The conversation: the system's logs of demo chats are deleted automatically after 14 days. The assistant's short-term memory of a chat is wiped whenever the server restarts.
  • Bookings and message counts: if the demo notes a booking or quote request, or counts your messages to stop misuse, that note is deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • Asking for a person: I get a copy of your message by email so I can reply, and I delete it within 90 days.

Cookies and storage

This site doesn't use cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics. Two small things can be stored in your browser, both needed for the site to work, so there's no cookie banner:

  • the demo saves a random conversation code in your browser's local storage so your chat holds together. It's a random code, not your name or anything you typed.
  • Cloudflare, which runs this website, may set a security cookie that helps it tell people from bots.

You can clear both in your browser settings at any time.

Who else handles it

I don't sell or share your information for anyone else's marketing. A few providers handle it so the service can run: Google (email through Google Workspace, and call bookings through Google Calendar), Cloudflare (runs this website and checks for bots), jsDelivr (delivers the demo chat's code, so it sees your IP address when you open the demo), Sliplane (the automation server), Anthropic (the AI model behind the assistants) and Twilio (WhatsApp messaging).

Some of them process data outside the UK. When they do, it goes to places UK law treats as safe, such as the EU, or under safeguards UK law approves, such as the UK-US data bridge or the UK's addendum to standard contract clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how I use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. You can object to its use at any time, and an objection to marketing always wins. Email temi@alekun.co.uk and I'll reply within a month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
